WHY YOU MAKE YOUR ART?
I make my art for the sheer catharsis of it. I makes me feel relaxed afterward so that i can make more art. It literally bursts out of me. It will always find a way out of my heart and into the world whether it be via paintings, furniture, clothing or public art.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO MAKE IT?
To pinpoint a true inspiration is quite a challenge! My art is mostly internally driven and yet i do I seek to inspire a reaction out of my art. Nothing too "deep" or intellectual mind you! Of late i have been inspired by my community and the stimulating people i have met and continue to meet through my art.
WHAT IT SIGNIFIES OR REPRESENTS?
Art in general has been defined as a vehicle for the expression or communication of emotions and ideas. Functional art can be observed the same way. I use many different ways to express myself to the viewer of my work. Lately, because of my work within the Glenwood community, the emphasis of my art is more of the communities interpretation of it rather than the focus being on self-expression.
WHAT'S UNIQUE OR SPECIAL ABOUT HOW YOU MAKE IT?
It is unique because i am unique and because of the process that i go through to get to the final piece. Every artists work is unique.
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU?
It means that i have succeeded in shifting a concept out of my mind and soul and into the real world for others to absorb. I love the process and encourage debate around anything that i do. I prefer not to take art too seriously and love to have an uplifting response to my art. I leave the dark stuff for more serious artists.
