Isabella Manyuchi

Isabella Manyuchi’s design career started as a Junior Artist in 1995 at a publishing company in Zimbabwe, where she designed adverts and directory covers (BOLDAds). She later was involved in a small project that designed on fabric surfaces. Here she gained experience designing on fabric surfaces including crochet, painting, beading and embroidery.  She decided to develop her career by doing a Surface Design Degree through the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Thereafter, she was involved in hand-made product designs and training of community members in the Community Works Programme in Limpopo (Natural Applications Pty Ltd).

She is passionate about texture in her work. She enjoys displaying her appreciation of art and design through her work in new and contemporary ways, in an effort to make fiber crafts stand out as a distinct body of knowledge. This gives them the platform, they so deserve, bringing a better understanding of them.

She has participated in the following exhibitions: Inspire Trade Expo (Joburg), Decorex (Joburg), Design Garage (DG) (Cape Town).
