Leonie Malherbe

Leonie as an art teacher taught in schools, established her children’s art school and ran embroidery workshops in rural areas around South Africa.
In 1997 she was part of the group that launched Fibreworks.
She contributed craft articles to ‘Your Family’ magazine and worked at the African Art Centre for years.
In 2006 she facilitated the making of the 6m beaded flag hanging in the Constitutional Court and another at the Moses Mabida Stadium – both worked by a group of six Zulu women.
Leonie has exhibited nationally and overseas and is in several publications.
