Nhlakanipho Mkhize was born in 1993 at Umbumbulu on the KZN South Coast, South Africa.
Mkhize is a graphic design student at the Durban University of Technology and works as a full time practicing artist. He is also a member of Amasosha Art Movement, a collective of young Durban artists that promotes hard work and solidarity amongst artist.
Mkhize’s work questions the legacy of imperialism in post-apartheid South Africa, and how it has reshaped community culture. He questions the social engineering imposed on indigenous people, and how it has shifted them from their indigenous values.
Mkhize is a multimedia artist, who specializes in painting, drawing, and sculpture to express his intellectual ideas.
