Nkosikhona Majola was born in 1988 in Umlazi township, Durban, South Africa.
He drew cartoons from an early age and was encouraged by his parents to continue with art. His elder brother, Sfiso Yalo, a professional artist also played a vital role in motivating him.
Majola lives with his mother who means the world to him.
As a talented artist, he is able to work in any medium but prefers to use charcoal, pencil and ballpoint pen.
Majola’s work deals with social issues affecting the youth. He dedicates most of his portraits to his immediate family such as his mother and grandmother. The influence of hip hop culture can be seen in his portraits and his work is intended to be appreciated by all age groups.
