My art is informed by my lifelong interest in the Unconscious.  I am particularly interested in the manner in which these processes create a unique third space between self and other which can be considered unique to each moment of meeting.  In this sense we meet ourselves and the other, in this case the artwork, from a different entry point each time.  Although new, it is at the same time deeply familiar.  To this end my method needs to incorporate constant change, isolation, addition and redaction of images and spaces on the pictorial surface.  My mediums need to facilitate this process by allowing continuing ambiguity.  I typically use oil, wax, acrylic and charcoal.
