I studied art many years ago at Wits university. Between working, mothering etc I managed to squeeze in small amounts of painting, sewing, knitting and ceramics. I have since my retirement become more focused on being creative and found my niche in fibre art, more specifically in felting and embroidery. I think textiles are in my blood, I love the colour and tactile texture. I experiment,  dyeing my wool or other fabric. With felting there is not always a definite outcomes especially in wet felting, outlines blur, items shift, and fabrics that do not shrink with agitation, wrinkle, bubble and crease, the unexpected is what I love there are the moments of pure magic and there are out right failures.

The fabric artist who I follow and admire are Dionne Swift, Junko Oki, Claudy Jongstra, Truus Huijbrechts and Elis Vermeulen, and Dorothy Caldwell amongst others.

My favourite SA artists are William Kentridge, Beezy Bailey,Walter Batisse,Penny Siopsis, Clementina van der Walt and Hylton Nel and many many more.

I am continually learning and discovering which is so exciting.
