#HAPPY Opening Night at the KZNSA

10 June 2015

Two new exhibitions opened at the KZNSA last night, Tuesday 9 June, and Durban art lovers were treated to another memorable evening of art and festivities at the gallery.

In the Park Gallery is a moving videography installation curated by visiting French visual artist Delphine Colin, The Poetry of Bodies/Poésie des Corps that brings a fresh international feel to the Gallery complex. In the Main and Mezzanine Galleries was the launch of a project six months in the making as part of the KZNSA's Social Art 2014/15 Programme. #HappyInSchool is a drama, photo and video project that exhibits a new body of work by photographer Harry Lock.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the big reveal of the 'Happy In School' music video of the smash Pharrell Williams hit 'Happy' choreographed by the learners from Zwelibanzi High School in Umlazi. The learners attended the launch and much singing and dancing ensued. Many thanks to those who supported this happy evening, and be sure to check out the video here if you missed out!
