Meet and greet Muvo Hlongwana an aspiring African Contemporary Dancer and a Choreographer. Muvo will be presenting his choreography, titled "Acquiescence" under the stars at the KZNSA.
- 21 May 2014
The word 'acquiescence' means to accept something reluctantly but without protest. The term is most generally about a kind of "permission" that is given by silence or passiveness.
Muvo's dance piece deals with notions of Homophobia, within a family unit. Muvo says: "My dance piece is about how family members or siblings have to come to "acquiescence", a tacit agreement, because of their realisation that there's nothing they can do to change a Gay person".
When: 22 May 2014 @ 5.30pm
Where: KZNSA Gallery
The KZNSA will be serving "hippo's" (quartz) and lamb curry at student prices!
