In 1994 an international competition was held to select a design for a gallery for the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts. Young UKZN graduates Michál Cohen and Cindy Walters submitted the winning design and, 20 years later, the building remains contemporary, robust, flexible and aesthetically pleasing.

Join us on Wednesday evening as project engineer Rob Young explains how that architectural vision was translated into a complimentary, structural engineered building.

Rob Young is a partner at Durban based consulting structural engineering firm, Young & Satharia, and the lead structural engineer for the King Shaka International Airport buildings and International Convention Centre roof
