Andiswa Live is a phenomenal afro-soul and jazz songwriter and vocalist from Pietermaritzburg. She combined her choral and gospel music background with a degree in Jazz and Popular Music. Her experiences birthed the creative and versatile artist that she has become today. She has appeared in various performance spaces around the country and has collaborated with big gospel stars such as Thina Zungu, Dumi Mkokstad & Thobekile. She is featured in Prince Bulo’s ‘Ngyakhuza’, ‘Landel’ by Slenda da dancing Dj from Afrotainment, alongside the Qwabe twins and ‘Sebenza’ produced by international DJ Leo Guardo. Andiswa Live is a force to be reckoned with, and audiences can expect to be in for a pleasant surprise on the 25th .

Kerry Lee Cherry is a businesswoman, actress, writer and musician. Kerry is ranked as one of the best vocalists to come out of Durban and is also known for being broad in her song choices; with her soothing voice, she will take you back in time to the 1920s and bring you safely back to 2022. She started singing at family functions at the age of 8, which led her to become part of a local church choir. In 2005 she grabbed the attention of a larger audience with a SAMA award-winning song, “Baby”, a collaboration with Verdine Eaton. In 2007 she was one of the top 30 finalists of SA IDOLS. The unstoppable songstress continues to jump into the spotlight, locally and nationally, in various venues, restaurants, clubs and theatres. Many would agree that she is a soulful singer, has a superb stage presence and that her voice is as sweet as her last name.

San Thurman and his band, the RIT Ensemble, will bring transcendent, psychedelic, and supernal vibes to the evening to make the night extra special. Thurman is an all-round performing artist with many talents; he writes, raps, sings and produces. The highly dynamic and multilayered artist hails from uMlazi in Durban, and most Durbanites would remember him from The Bat Centre National Lotto Fund program and Durban Movie Tech Film & Production TV, those are the platforms that sharpened his skills. He has since shared the stage with many accomplished artists and bands, including 340ml and Tumi & The Volume. He is also not a stranger to festivals such as Awesome Africa, Splashy Fen, Flux and The Grahamstown National Arts Festival. He has produced for some of the best rappers to come out of Durban, such as Manelis, Jamza, LexLafoy and Blaq Hitlah, and has been able to switch between different genres of music, namely reggae, afro soul and punk.

The Arts Cafe will serve a special dinner menu – a reminder to bring your alcohol until further notice. Tickets are R80, available at Webtickets or at the door.
