CSA KZN Regional Showcase – Flight of Fancy

Ceramics Southern Africa KZN Region is holding their annual exhibition which comprises of many ceramic artists that are members of the association.  Paid up members receive four magazines a year highlighting the exciting work that is being done in the world of ceramics and interesting articles on South African ceramic artists who have excelled in their field.  They can also attend workshops during the year by various well known artists.  This inspiration contributes to them finding their own voice and refining their work.  The Regional exhibition is a perfect place to exhibit, and the gallery space at the KZNSA showcases the artists years of experience and experiments in a spacious setting.   Work will be functional, conceptual, expressive, controversial and something for everyone to love or discuss.

Invited Guest Artists

Phumlani Nyawo – He is one of the CSAKZN outreach artists and has been involved in clay for many years starting his journey at the Bat Centre.  He has participated in both National and Regional exhibitions and recently entered the Innibos National Craft Exhibition where he reached the finals and received a prize for his magnificent Nguni Bulls which are hand crafted and smoke fired.

Margot Rudolph – Hails from Pretoria and obtained her National Diploma in Ceramics Design from TUT in 1986.  She is a full time potter and works from her own studio.  Her work showcases beautiful bright functional and decorative ware with a distinctly African theme.  She has participated in many National and Regional exhibitions and her own solo exhibitions.  This year alone she has been part of the Hermanus Fyn Arts and an exhibition with Christine Williams and Eunice Botes.

MRP Home Competition

For the first time this year we are including a special stand alone section where ceramic artists  will submit work in the form of either a decorative vessel, a planter or an objet d’ art.

This exhibition is a perfect opportunity for all interested parties, decorators, architects, designers artists, and those that appreciate the hand made to come and see talented ceramics artists in one setting.
