Mandisa Makhanya

Mandisa Makhanya is a young aspiring artist and curator from Durban, South Africa. She completed a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Durban University of Technology in 2023, majoring in Ceramics and Painting. Makhanya has participated in the Durban art scene, showcasing her work at the uShaka Marine Pop-up Gallery, the BAT Centre, and the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts (KZNSA). She is currently part of the Art School Africa Summer Exhibition in Cape Town and the Unlearn to Learn programme at the BAT Centre. With a desire to engage more deeply within the contemporary art world, Makhanya aims to expand both her practice and conceptual approach, in addition to her artistic pursuits.
