Snesizwe Mahlalela

Snesizwe Mahlalela is an artist, writer, and creative born and based in Durban, South Africa. A graduate of the Durban University of Technology, he holds a Diploma in Fine Arts and an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts. His work explores colonial and post-colonial cultural narratives, as well as the ever-evolving relationship between culture, creativity, and cities— particularly his hometown of Durban.
He presented a reading at Power Talks, showcasing his commitment to engaging with cultural discourse. His multifaceted approach to art and writing reflects a deep curiosity about history, identity, and the transformative power of creativity in urban spaces.
