Bandile Mbuli

Bandile is a multidisciplinary artist who uses Costume Design as her medium. She holds a qualification in Performing Arts Technology (Cum Laude) and has 13 years of experience in the international film scene. She founded Kreative Konstant in 2017, an entity that centres indigenous voices and methods in craft innovation. She imbues every project with a strong social outlook. Bandile was instrumental in the creation of more than 300 hundred jobs through her curatorial leadership on CBS: King Shaka. Her creative pursuits are fueled by her passion for indigenous knowledge systems and ways of making. She merges her experience in make-up artistry (Canadian Screen Award Nominee- ‘The Book of Negroes’), art direction, culinary curation ( Durban’s: The Chairman) to reveal a multi-faceted body of work fundamentally concerned with sustainable practices and the restoration of dignity through art, activism and education. Bandile is a wildly cerebral artist as well as a problem-solver – and intuitively knows how to work with a wide range of personalities. She is effective communicator who is able to mobilise and motivate her teams to achieve a common goal. Bandile prioritises a healthy, dynamic and unconventional work environment that fosters the highest potential from all of its members.
